well you asked and I am gonna tell ya,
In the sense that it is and does take away the pain of withdrawls and has maintained me from having withdrawls and it is legal for me to go and get,yes sir I think its the greatest think since peanut butter.
In the sense that I am now not addicted to heroin yet dependant on methadone
no its no good,because,it to is an addictive drug and there for I am still on a drug with out the ability to ......painlessly quit taking it.I can however taper down to the point it is less painful for a shorter period of time,unlike heroin,I tried it and so have a thousand others
there is no tapering down on heroin and the reason I think is because you can not obtain heroin like you could in the old days when Bayer asprin sold it as the wonder drug,heroin doesnt come in low dose pills so to speak.
So the answer to your question is answerable only to the person who asks it,That I think is the best answer I can give you

I have been on Methadone for about 8 years now. I had a car accident and got addicted to pain pills. I finally realized I would be on some kind of pain medicine for life, so I switched to Methadone for several reasons. It is the best pain medicine I have ever taken for back pain, the best to help with the withdraws, and if you're going to be on pain medicine for a period of time, Methadone is the safest with the least side effects! I was literally losing my Family and everything I had, until I started Methadone Treatment. I Thank God every day for Methadone, I don't know what I'd do without it!

I have been on methaone for 5 years and am happy that there is such a treatment for my addiction to opiates. I plan to be on it for the rest of my life

I FEEL THAT THIS FORUM IS FOR PEOPLE WHO ARE PRO METHADONE. THIS IS A PLACE WHERE WE CAN TALK ABOUT OUR TREATMENT AND HELP OTHERS WHO HAVE METHADONE ISSUES/QUESTIONS. THERE ARE TONS OF WEB SITES THAT ARE ANTI METHADONE AND THIS SHOULD NOT BE ONE OF THEM IMO..
SO MANY PEOPLE PREACH ABOUT HOW BAD METHADONE IS, BUT THEY ARE SO MISINFORMED AND IGNORANT ON THE SUBJECT THAT THEY SHOULD KEEP THEY'RE MOUTHS SHUT,LOL.
METHADONE SAVES LIVES... I JUST TOOK MY DAILY DOSE OF 130 MG AND I'M OFF TO 12 HOURS OF WORK AND THEN 3 HOURS OF BAND PRACTICE TONIGHT. I WILL FEEL FINE ALL DAY AND NIGHT AND WON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT OPIATES. BEFORE I STARTED ON METHADONE MY ENTIRE DAY, HELL MY ENTIRE LIFE CONSISTED OF LOOKING FOR MORE PILLS AND CONSTANTLY THINKING/WORRYING ABOUT GETTING SICK IF I RAN OUT OF STUFF. IT IS SO AWESOME TO LIVE A NORMAL LIFE AGAIN WITH NO DRUG CRAVING . I LOVE HAVING MONEY IN MY POCKET NOW TOO. WHEN YOUR USING EVERY LAST CENT GOES TO THE DEALER.
