Now I have been on and off methadone since 1974. My youngest daughter was born while I was on the program. Even tho my kids have grown my Girls have this hatred for this medication. They blame it for me not being there to raise them. At that time I was still using with the methadone,but we were only getting 50 mgs...You would think as educated as I am about this that I could get them to understand about the medication,but they don't even want to hear it....last night I was talking with one of my girls,the one that stayed here for a month with my grand children..she has a drinking problem and I try so hard not to be judgmental,but I think I hit a nerve when I asked how her drinking was doing...she copped a really bad attitude and said"Well,Mom,Your Loaded all the time!" and hung up. It really hurts me cuz I love my kids and would lay down and die for them and it just boggles me that I can't get them to understand. They don't want to hear it. I even send them a copy of "Finding Normal" so they could hear it from someone else...Nicole says she liked the music..thats all I could get out of her and I didn't hear anything from Jessica.....I dunno......Has me pretty bummed out...I'll get over it,but I needed to write about it really bad...
