Should methadone be sold to anyone?

Should methadone be sold to anyone who wants it? Should restrictions be reduced to everyone being able to buy methadone? Or would that be a bad idea? What do you think?

Before I try and answer this question,could you be a bit more explicit about what you mean that anybody can buy it? Buy it from where? the street? NO!!!!! Methadone should be available to anyone who needs it,but from a Dr or program or Pharmacy...What I mean is through a legal means.....

yes methadone should be legal but not from a street !
I think if you wan't methadone get a recipe from a doctor and buy in a legal way.

I doubt many folks know that one. It's probably more guarded than colonel Sanders 'secret recipe'......and that's a good thing

Now back to shouls methadone be available to anyone at any time, no way.
should it be available for addicts and pain sufferers,by all means yes it should but not just by the bottle,I mean you should not be able to go out and buy methadone like a gallon of milk or something or a bottle of asprin.There has to be a regulated dose to go by
Can you imagine the number of teenagers or worse little kids 11 12 yrs old just starting to "experiment" with drugs and one finds his mom or dads bottle of methadone liquid?????? sheeeeeeeeeeit be a bunch dead kids that day.
I do believe if you have shown that you are a consieintous(sp) adult and have the need for methadone than yes I think I should be able to get like 6 months or so but with dr visits every 90 days or so just to check ya out and I guess blood work every year.
Man we are dope fiends,junkies,we take advantage of drugs so giving us an unregulated access to any drug is crazy and I am just crazy enough to say I would like it but I am also smart enough to know what would happen to me.I need to be monitored to a degree and seriously if anyone who is on methadone for doing heroin or any of it co-horts you know it to,we are addicts and we abuse drugs if the opportunity is there.
