I know I wouldn't be in the good place i am now if it weren't for Methadone. It absolutley saved my life! I don't even want to think of where i'd br rite now if i haden't learned about Methadone Matenience(sp?) I know i mutalated that word...LOL

Not only did methadone save my life it gave me a purpose. I have been involved with Harm Reduction close to 2 decades now and not only have a Chapter of NAMA here in Santa Cruz I am also on the ADP<Cal's Narcotic Treatment Programs of the State> advisory committee and help to make changes so patients get better care here in CA.
I do alot of educating world wide about Stigma and I can not Thank You enough for changing that term.. Thats why they<NAMA> calls me their LP LOL.....

I know over the years I would be on methadone just as a back up incase I woke one day w/o my morning shot,as have many people,however,it took the death of a family member to bring mr to reality and to the decision I had had enough.I have now been on methadone for close to 10 yrs maybe more I dunno,but I have been on MMT for close to 4 yrs with out a drop of heroin,and I can tell you life is good because of it.I would not be where I am or with the woman that miraculosly stayed by my side.Methadone,although at times in the clinics can be a pain,but methadone is a life saver and if done correctly can bring you from the bottom of the bottom the ditch heroin puts you in and delivers a person with something to give society rather than take.I am in the processe of tapering now and due to some extreme luck,I am now getting my methadone from a pain management dr rather than ther clinic.I am finding it a little tough at times but thats expected .
Now that I have rambled on long enough I will say without a doubt,Methadone not only helps,it can save your life if thats what you truely want.
Sorry to taken so long to say what I meant to ,but sometimes its the reason that makes the difference.

METHADONE SAVED MY LIFE NO IF ANDS AND BUTS ABOUT IT. USED FOF 13YRS. MY HUSBAND WAS IN JAIL AT THE TIME. I WOKE UP IN THE HOSPITAL THE COPS TOLD ME THEY SOMEONE FOUND ME IN AN ALLEY WAY HALF DEAD. I'M NOT A COP LOVER FAR FROM IT!BUT................HE SAID "WHAT KIND OF PEOPLE WOULD DUMP YOU IN AN ALLEY WAY INSTEAD OF A HOSPITAL WHICH BY THE WAY NOT EVEN A MILE AWAY? THERE IS A DRUG CALLED METHADONE LADY YOU NEED SERIOUS HELP HERE IS THE ADDRESS OF ARF." I GOT THINKING SITTING IN THE HOSPITAL AND THE REST IS HISTORY. HAVEN'T USED ANYTHING BUT POT IN 15YRS.

Hey guys I jus started the clinic about 2 weeks ago,things are just about getting a lil better,not fully but better.Im on 75 mgz,but iv tryed everything iv been on the suboxones for 3 years and the most clean time i had on those where about 5 months and that was 2 years ago,i also tryed moveing away 2 get clean and that didnt work cuz every time id head home id be thinkin oo iv done real good i deserve to enjoy,haha typical BS,but the methadose is workin so far im actully going days with out useing,i know its early but so far so gooooood. no sickness

from your posts I see methadone is a whery good thing i never used I't so I can't tell is I't good or not but I gues it's a very good thing hooray for methadone
