23 year old American Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps has over 100 million dollars in endorsements a total of 14 Olympic medals and a recent photo of him smoking marijuana in November 2008 at a university party could stop the endorsements.
Even though I believe marijuana should be legal and as easy to purchase as a bottle of Jack Daniels I have to say this was bad judgement on his part. I mean if he doesn't care about the $100,000,000 in endorsements then good for him but when you have companies like Speedo, Nike and kellogg wagering 100 million on you being a public icon with a hero type image this is probably not a smart move. He also got a dui after the 2004 olympics.
So what do you think? Can michael Phelps maintain his hero image?
