Methadone $: 0
Hi, my name is Mike. I'll try to make this short. Been an addict all of my 20's. I'm now 31. For the past 3 to 3 1/2 years I was on Suboxone. I did o.k. for about year to a year and a half, (forgot to mention I play in a rock band and am surrouned by not so good people). Anyhow about a year or so ago I started getting heavy into benzos. And of course I found that I liked the feeling when I mixed the bennies with the sub. Eventually I started selling and trading sub for more bennies. Which of course led me short on the subs, so I would wait a few days sometimes a week or so for the subs to leave the system and then go get street opiates.

I know a ton of people say meth is a nightmare, but my reason for wanting to try it, is tha I will be supervised to take it, and not be left home alone with a script of sub that I can do whatever I want with.

My final quick question is, because of the benzos, I was able to fend off a bit of the opiate/suboxone withdrawel, although i still don't quit feel right and need something. So I'm concerned, (monday I have an appointment for meth), and concerned that becasue I haven't had any opiates for about 2 and a half weeks so they may deny me meth? My only saving grace is that I have paper work from the clinic that I got my sub from. Is it possible they can deny meth after being on suboxone since 2004-ish and then detoxing off of it and now not having opiates in my system after a couple of weeeks?

Thanks for anybodies help.

Mike.

It depends on the clinic and the state that you are in. If you don't have any opiates left in your blood stream though, they may not let you dose due to the fact that methadone is so strong and so many people overdose on it. I switched from Methadone to Suboxone, and then back to methadone. The clinic had no problem with me switching because I still had opiates in my blood and urine. This will be your only problem. If you have to, (this isn't the best advice) get some street opiates for a day or so just to give you something in your blood. That is, unless you can completely abstain without anything like methadone or suboxone. If you can do that, then you have no reason to get on methadone. It has worked wonders for me in my life, because I couldn't abstain without it. Some people can, I can't. I would openly and honestly explain the situation over the telephone first to see what they say. If it seems like they might deny you, then get some suboxone or some other thing for a few days and then go to the appointment. I don't usually condone the usage of opiates but if it is the only way you can get into the clinic then so be it. But, as I said, you made it two weeks without opiates, so if you can do it without methadone that would be great. I couldn't though. Methadone was a gift from God to me and to countless others. You might find the same saving grace from it. [b]YOU ABSOLUTELY SHOULD NOT TAKE BENZOS WITH METHADONE UNLESS UNDER THE SUPERVISION OF A PHYSICIAN AND THE CLINIC STAFF!!!! Hope this is of some help to you. Good luck.
